VA Loans to Purchase Homes
Opening Doors for Military Homeowners
We fully understand your needs and want to make the home loan process as easy as possible. Whether you're a first-time homebuyer or an experienced buyer, we're here to make getting a veteran mortgage a simple and easy process.
If you've served on active military duty with an honorable discharge for a minimum of 90 days during wartime, or a minimum of 181 continuous days of military service during peacetime, or you have served in the National Guard or Reserves for a minimum of six years, you may be eligible for all the benefits of a VA Home Loan. If you're a veteran, VA Loan eligibility requires two years of service if you began your military service after September 7, 1980, or, as an officer, if you began your military service after October 16, 1981.
Just Follow These Simple Steps
- Make use of the debt-to-income ratios to find out how much of a VA home you can afford to purchase.
- Obtain a pre-approval now on your VA home loan. You want to look for a new home with the confidence that you are approved. Know that your VA mortgage loan and credit report are already approved before you go house hunting. In addition, being pre-approved shows the seller or builder that you are a serious buyer and that your offer is solid.
VA Loan News, Guidelines, and Articles
Many assume the VA provides the money for a VA guaranteed loan, but private banks issue the actual VA mortgage—no money comes from the VA unless the buyer defaults and goes into foreclosure.
The Department of Veterans Affairs does guarantee the loan but the VA does not issue them. Knowing that fact makes the rest of the fine details a lot easier to understand.
The VA guaranteed portion of a joint VA loan is only extended to the veteran. The non-military applicant is applying without the benefit of a VA guarantee on his or her portion of the loan.
